Seeking a Social Media Coordinator with 1-3 years' experience for terrific, fast-growing footwear company in the Greater Boston area.

Grow & maintain the online presence for company
Partner with Brand Director, Digital Marketing Manager & E-Commerce Marketing Manager to implement online marketing strategies through social media accounts
Represent the voice/tone of the brand to our social media community
Help develop original content & suggest creative ways to drive sales, increase brand awareness, and activate our community of raving fans
Help increase web traffic and customer engagement metrics aligned with broader marketing strategies.
Work with digital marketing partners to develop an optimal posting schedule, considering web traffic and customer engagement metrics; track & report on weekly engagement activities
Support events and sports marketing initiatives

Must have's:
1-3 years' post-college experience as a Social Media Coordinator
Proven expertise in multiple social media platforms
Familiarity with online marketing strategies and marketing channels
Strong grasp on trends in digital technologies and how to leverage them
Flexibility with schedule, some weekends and evenings
Willingness to travel to brand-related events and trade shows - probably about 10% travel
BS degree in Marketing or New Media
Footwear experience a big plus (but not necessarily)

VP/Group Director, User Experience: Austin, TX - full relo offered!

Shortly after falling in love with the realm of recruitment*, I became enamored with user experience. Fortunately for me, I’m able to combine my passion for both in my work, and have done so since it was called “Information Architecture”.

This agency's work makes me positively giddy. This thriving and pioneering shop in Austin, Texas is adding a VP-level Group Director, User Experience Design role to head up their growing UX practice across their four offices.

Let me tell you a little bit about the company. It's a 25+ year old, privately- and woman-owned boutique, so there are no stockholders dictating them how to treat their employees or clients. This gives them a lot of flexibility to pursue and do the type of work they want. They focus on people first, which is an attitude that has led to great work and success over the years. Their culture is one of innovation crafted with soul, in that innovation is at the heart of everything, but it's crafted with a 'hand touch'. It's more than just technology though; as they’re always at the forefront of trying out new things. The soul part is who they are as a people - a very kind, Texas-friendly organization with high standards and expectations.  A highly enforced, top-down, “no egos or @$$holes allowed” policy reigns true here and safeguards their phenomenal culture. They were initially known for their branding work, but these days they are a solid think tank that is constantly re-imagining and reinventing the digital and physical realm. Over the years, they have grown to 250 people spread across four states, but the majority of the UX team resides in their Austin Headquarters, which is where this position is located.

The VP, Group Director, User Experience Design position reports to the COO, a former UX leader and colleague of mine (and helluva nice guy)  who was overseeing the team for a while. This company has invested heavily in User Design as a practice and capability, and as a result, are winning a lot of research-, user experience- and design-centric engagements. Given this, it’s time for the COO to add a VP-level leader to focus 100% on the UX Design practice. This is an ideal career move for a relationship-builder who is passionate about the industry, ready to join a leadership team, where s/he can leave his/her mark on shaping a discipline, selecting design methodology, and building out, coaching and managing a team while working on some very memorable engagements.

Sound good so far? As much as I like these people and their culture, it's their work that gives me goosebumps. After all, these are the folks behind the one of my favorite desk accessories. Some of their other projects include:
-A bot that uses AI to track how the stock market reacts to tweets in real time, powers trades and donates profits to an animal welfare organization (So they're helping homeless animals, too!)
-VR sensory immersion that will blow you away
-A massive global communication plan announcing the launch of global client's new website. Web site visuals, site tours, demo videos, social posts and e-marketing accompanied users on an multifaceted e-expedition that humanized big data (including 500+ assets versioned for use in 200+ countries) and projected it in a more visualized, accessible way.

About You:
Personality-wise, you’re a super smart, hands-on leader, with an upbeat energy and enthusiasm for future forward technology that’s positively infectious.
-10-15 years’ overall experience in user experience design, with at least 2 + years’ experience at the director level, and a management and mentorship style that enables people to realize their best potential
-You’re an active and well-known leader in your UX community, and have a highly regarded blog or have published papers on UX-centric subject matters, as well as judged UX design award shows and spoken at conferences
-Both feet firmly planted in the digital realm. You’re an active participant in the product design scene and you’re constantly thinking about “the next wave of the future”, digitally and otherwise. Your entrepreneurial spirit and proactive personality help you stay abreast of technological innovations in graphic, user/experience design
-Exceptional client presentation skills complemented by your ability to articulate and justify your vision and rationale for design decisions to clients and colleagues alike
-Direct experience creating pure brand interactive, social, and mobile experiences, and combining them with emerging technologies to creating new products or experiences, ranging from bots to beacons, and everything in between, including AI, AR, iTV &/or VR. That being said, you don’t pursue trends simply for the sake of for the sake of staying on trend. For you, the means has to justify the end goal, and it’s all about creating well-designed items and the stories they maintain over their lives.

My client is a retail/e-tail giant with several well-known & much-loved brands under their expansive corporate umbrella. But all that glitters is not gold - especially if their website is looking old. So they've heavily invested in their e-commerce team and are planning to migrate over to a new platform which will ultimately help them add some much-needed razzle to make their products dazzle. Fortunately, they recognize that user experience is critical to their guests' overall shopping experience. Given this, they are adding a senior-level user experience designer to their team.

On a day-to-day basis, you will:
Collaborate with our product managers, developers and internal business partners to design great customer experiences across all digital channels and deliver great products to our customers
Work with a small team on a specific area of the site, where your core focus will be to work on one of those tracks. Within each of these tracks, there are any number of things happening in a modified agile environment. This is where teams break down the work, decide what to work on, create a plan & execute against it.
Represent the consumer: advocate for our customers at all times while leading the design of new features, site experiences from concept to launch
Partner with product team to identify current and future needs, and how to leverage emerging trends and technologies to optimize customer experiences

Act as a UX evangelist: help shape the UX practice by proactively identifying and suggesting best practices and methodologies
Do the usual UX stuff, such as: create flow diagrams, wireframes, prototypes/rapid iterations, detailed visual design, documentation, and presentations; conduct user research, usability testing and A/B tests, validate your work through analysis of quantitative and qualitative data, follow/maintain/update style guide and DSL as needed

About you:
5-7 years' front-end UX and visual design experience; min. 1-2+ years' experience working on responsive e-commerce sites
You're a user experience evangelist with a solid understanding of user design principles and design methodologies
You're a bit of a hybrid between a user experience designer and a designer. Perhaps you worked as a visual designer before switching over to UX design full time.
You're an entrepreneurial, innovative, and critical thinker, with a collaborative work style, but can also work on independently as needed
You've worked at UX-driven companies and have helped build a UX practice in the past
Your portfolio showcases your ability to distill complex problems into elegant solutions and displays a genuine love of storytelling and a solid understanding of a customer's digital journey
You have omni channel store and large site redesign/re-architecture experience
You rabidly follow and evaluate current trends in UX, design and e-commerce and enjoy sharing this information with less experienced colleagues
You have a clear understanding of the cross platform feature design and how to apply data to design decisions
You've worked on projects using Redjacks, JavaScript, CSS, JQuery
You have solid proficiency in a variety of design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Omnigraffle, Axure and Sketch; and experience prototyping with tools such as InVision, Axure, Flinto, FramerJS
You have 1-2+ years' experience designing iOS and Android apps
3D modeling experience/exposure is a plus
Accessibility and/or WCAG 2.0/Section 508 experience
