This global travel technology company provides computer reservations systems and IT systems for the travel industry and processes over 850 million billable travel transactions a year for their customers, which include airlines, travel agencies, hotels, tour operators, transportation-centric companies (car rentals, railroad, ferry, cruise lines, etc.). Founded over 25 years ago, they have over 10,000 employees worldwide with $2.5 billion in sales!

The company is structured around two areas: its global distribution system and its IT solutions business area. Acting as an international network, their service offerings include search, pricing, booking, ticketing and other processing services in real-time to travel providers and agencies through its distribution business division.  They also offer travel companies software systems which automate processes (such as reservations, inventory management and departure control) through their IT solutions business. The company is very progressive with regards to industry evolution and has invested over one billion dollars in R&D over the past ten years, enabling them to diversify their operations to encompass streamlining the operational and distribution requirements of its customer base.

We have a number of Java/C++ Developer roles open due to new business successes. These three roles represent just a few of our many openings on our development team.

Software Engineer: we are seeking a Software Engineer with 3+ years' experience in software development and systems support for a global travel IT provider.

This person will develop testing and quality tools for travel reservation and develop web
applications for travel agents. Responsibilities include:
  • Research and prototyping of potential new products 
  • Analyze and transform product requirements into subsystem specifications; write design documentation. 
  • Responsible for subsystems requirements, architecture and code reviews
  • Participate in establishing design and code standards
  • Provide accurate estimates for component development
  • Perform unit, system and integration tests of critical subsystems and components
  • Give guidance and leadership to other Software Engineers in testing tools and quality tools 
  • Integrate subsystems design with overall technical architecture
Java & C++ Software Engineer: We are looking for people with 3-7+ years' experience with C++, Java, UML, SQL/RDBMS to help us evolve our reservation system platform (Unix environment). We use C++ for the open back end in charge of the core functionality and Java for the portal in charge of the platform administration. Hotel IT knowledge, GDS distribution models knowledge, and Air IT knowledge are a HUGE plus. Responsibilities include:
  • Design, code, test, debug, document and maintain software solutions.
  • Design technical solutions and perform feasibility studies.
  • Propose viable technical solutions to Product Management and/or users for validation.
  • Model, design and implement databases as necessary.
  • Develop software according to our internal standards
  • Conduct unit, package and performance tests of the software and ensure a level of quality n line with the corporate guidelines.
  • Participate in the validation / acceptance phase of the product cycle ensuring the fine-tuning necessary to finalize the product.
  • Produce software documentation necessary for the application and issue it to the requesting departments.
  • Support the end user in the Production phase by debugging existing software solutions in response to Problem Tracking Records (PTR) and Change Requests (CR) issued from Product Management or Product Definition.

Software Engineering Team Lead: with 3+ years of experience leading a development team and super-strong Java/C++ skills needed to lead a team that is responsible for growing the functionality, continuous availability and scalability for major hotel clients and their reservation systems. The overall solution framework is SOA, functionality is delivered in the form of Json web services. Software is developed in C++ and leverages our corporate technologies to store information (Oracle, No-SQL solutions). The solution interacts with corporate portals, revenue management systems and property management systems. Responsibilities:
  • Define user requirements for development of new or improved software solutions
  • Design technical solutions and perform feasibility studies
    Propose viable technical solutions to Product Management and/or users for validation
  • Model, design and implement databases as necessary
  • Develop software according to our corporate standards
  • Conduct unit, package and performance tests of the software and ensure a level of quality in line with corporate guidelines
  • Participate in the validation / acceptance phase of the product cycle ensuring the fine-tuning necessary to finalize the product.
  • Produce software documentation necessary for the application and issue it to the requesting departments\

These full time positions are based in the Greater Boston area and are 100% on site; no remote
Visa sponsorship is not available at this time, but visa transfers are OK
Relocation available within U.S. to talent with  Hotel IT, GDS distribution models, and/or Air IT experience
