Director of Digital Marketing for global non-profit; Boston, MA

One of my clients, a global non-profit healthcare organization, is seeking to hire a Director of Marketing for their Boston headquarters.

This global non-profit brings healthcare services to the poor and marginalized in several countries, including Haiti, Russia, Africa and United States, to name but a few. Their services provide preventative care,  medical training, advocacy, research & hands-on healthcare for diseases such as Ebola, TB & HIV/AIDS. They have a digital presence, but it's limited. They have not done much in the line of digital marketing in the past, so this person needs to create from scratch a digital marketing department that will focus on building awareness, growing membership, engaging our supporter base and helping the development team achieve their fundraising goals, This will involve creating and managing multi-platform digital communications, fundraising, and advocacy campaigns designed to attract new supporters and raise funds, leading to the growth and engagement of our supporter base. You will have a small marketing/social media team to manage and you will partner with our fundraising and communications people to develop and launch multi-faceted digital campaigns in a deadline-driven environment.

The ideal person is an energetic, self-starter who will be as passionate about our cause as we are! S/he should have 5+ years of marketing communications experience with 3+ years of digital marketing, fundraising, and membership acquisition experience. Experience starting up a digital marketing department/program for a non-profit is a huge plus!  This is a vital time for the organization, so this person will be extremely busy the first 3-6 months, until marketing plans and programs are in place and well underway.
