HR Generalist - part time; Nashua, NH area

This 35 year old globally-recognized company is a trusted source for rare documents, manuscripts, autographs, and historic artifacts. Internationally renown and frequently featured in international media outlets, they specialize on selling authentic material via their catalog and website.

Located in the Nashua, NH area, this company is located in an area Yankee Magazine calls one of New England's most picturesque towns. Residents here enjoy no state taxes, cheap rents & easy access to several ski slopes.

We need to add a part time HR Generalist to our team. This person will establish, implement, and update HR processes that will contribute to the well-being of the business and our people.

Daily To Do's:
  • Provide operational and consultative support to our managers; equip managers with the tools and techniques to manage staff in alignment with human resources philosophies, policies, practices, and programs
  • Responsible for day-to-day execution of human resources policies and programs, such as employee relations, training, talent development, compensation, and benefits
  • Guide and direct employees to tools and resources they need  to effectively do their jobs, develop their skills, and manage their careers
  • Coach managers on employee relations issues, provide guidance on conversations with employees, the employee relations process, and potential legal issues; involve appropriate resources as necessary
  • Actively participate in recruiting efforts and talent management process; provide new hire orientation or "on boarding" service
Must Have's:
  • 5-7 years' HR generalist experience
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of Federal, State, and Local legislation regarding personnel and labor laws
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Human Resources; or Associate’s Degree and/or HR Certificate experience
  • PHR/SPHR preferred
  • Strong interpersonal, communications, analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to coach and mediate
  • Proficient in all components of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat Professional
